First a little catch up and it appears to have been a very busy year both for Devilish Design and on a personal level for the ‘The Baron’ who has now officially declared himself a Top within the lifestyle: I resisted a public label for as long as I could, but found it necessary as the name Devilish Design began to grow. No Top is complete without a bottom and in late 2017 his search was over. It has been amazing to work with her, and watch her grow. Her story impacted me deeply, as she is someone who knew she had a fetish but did not fully understand that there was a lifestyle and community lying just under the surface of everyday life. As I started to explain to her about my life, interests, writing, and work, I realized she was someone waiting to find her path. I was able to explain to her further the fact that her fetish did not make her broken, defective, or too much work (things she’d been told by the vanilla world), and it became abundantly clear I had an opportunity and responsibility to guide her into the lifestyle safely and sanely. I have been working with her now for about six months, and watching her blossom in multiple areas of her life has been a profound blessing. Also a key point was putting the finishing touches on my dungeon. I affectionately refer to this as The Throne Room, A little more on this special addition later…
Devilish Design have now found their way over the pond to England with the first international patron purchasing two of The Baron’s most beautiful designs.
Finding my first international patron from England was an important step forward. The special lady first commissioned one of my Bear Claw designs, and followed it up with a nice little Over the Knee Paddle. She is in talks with me about adding more Devilish Design to her collection in 2018.
So where are we likely to find pieces of the master craftsman’s work?
I have worked for Tops Doms and Dommes on every level. What I mean, is that I have worked with couples that keep their play private, larger play houses with private membership, and for Dommes that work professionally in the lifestyle and everything in between. What I would say is that I have worked with and for some individuals that I think are prolific in the community both physically and electronically that are promoting the BDSM lifestyle in a very positive light.
I will tell you this, I believe that there should be a little Devilish Design in every dungeon and play bag around the world. We most definitely agree
The Throne Room
The Baron’s early days of working at renaissance fares, running medieval feasts, murder mysteries and Halloween Shows led to the inspiration behind his new addition which he fondly calls The Throne Room I have closets full of props and costumes including a full throne which I decided would be the focal point of my dungeon. The Throne Room is an intimate play space that I continue to hone and refine. I hope in the future to open it up to close friends that do not have a private space in which to play, but for now it is my private chamber and sanctuary. It is one part Throne Room and one part Church. We here at Kinkycamdom have enjoyed sharing the pictures via twitter of the ever changing Throne Room, and are always excited to see what will appear next.
With a busy and expanding year behind him what will 2018 have in store for Devilish Design.I hope to continue building on the solid foundation that has become Devilish Design. I started this project in the middle of 2015 and it has slowly grown each year. I continue to refine my designs and make the paddles that I love to make and offer them as numbered boutique pieces to the public and my patrons. Every piece is truly one of a kind. My hope for 2018 is to continue to grow and have more regular sales. 2017 saw a major movement as Twitter became a significant marketing tool for the business. The name Devilish Design will have to grow even more to cut through the daily chatter that is the Twittersphere to get my message through but I am confident it will. I desire to keep doing top notch work that Tops, Doms and Dommes love to wield, and subs love to have used on them.
When running a small business single handed, the ebb and flow of personal life can sometimes have an impact on the direction of the business, The Baron is no exception to this with a massive shift in his personal life late last year we wondered how this has impacted his goal of Devilish Design.
This has been the hardest question to answer for this interview. It’s this question that I think is most important to answer fully without talking too much about my personal life. I experienced a significant loss this last year and it made me realize and realign a great many things and has made my focus crystal clear. What I thought would be a traumatic loss was actually the most positive thing that could have happened to both my Vanilla and BDSM life. One very wise friend once said to me “Let your NO be the YES to the rest of your life”. Doors have begun to open to me that I did not even know were there, and I chose to go forward. I chose to live my life deliberately, and seek new opportunities that allow me to use my full voice about the lifestyle that I have come to love. I desire to bring the same quality that I apply to my woodwork into my abilities as a Top. I hope to craft good fulfilling scenes in the same manner that I craft a high quality paddle. With such a positive outlook we are sure that Devilish Design will go from strength to strength in the coming years.
With so many beautiful custom made designs we find it extremely hard to decide on our favourite piece and The Baron found it a little easier
I created so many beautiful pieces in 2017, but a few stand out in my mind. The first being the Bear Claw that was sent to England as my first official international commission. The Bear Claws have become quite popular, but they take quite a bit of time so every new claw is a custom order. I now only take on a few custom orders a year. Also creating paddle #100, a nice red Over the Knee piece that was sent to a Domme in the Midwest USA. There were so many other notable pieces this past year but I think those are the ones that stand out in my mind as mile stones.
The Baron knows that life is a learning curve and is excited about what the future holds.
I am always looking for new opportunities to grow as an artisan and Top, and expand my knowledge base. I want to meet and collaborate with other experienced individuals in the community as there are always new things to learn. I also hope to travel more. I desire to meet some of the wonderful people that have become my patrons and supporters. I want to see and experience the Dungeons of The World.
If we were to take a peek inside the workshop today what would we find?Lots of sawdust! Just Kidding! Right now I am actually creating something for myself. I am working on adjustments and additions for my cross so that it may function more like a rack. I am also working on some new lighting and decor for the Throne Room. Then it is right back to work on paddles for 2018.
The key lesson learned from 2017 is never let anything or anyone hold you back… Focus Forward… and Think Global. These three things drive my every thought and action.
It has been a pleasure for us to watch and help this wonderful business grow over the past 12 months and we are confident that the coming year will see even more unique and exquisite designs making their way hopefully to a Dungeon near you.

Day 6
The Day Bedtimes were set

Of course before this I believe should be an intro of how all of this began and how I am now in the fortunate position to call Miss Ems my Mistress.

Day 2

Brenda Adiyiah
1: What is something you have done that you are really proud of?
I launched my own business early this year, under the brand name Burn the Night. I have worked on many other projects previously under various pseudonyms, but this is the first lifestyle brand / creative services platform I have created. So far, it’s received great feedback from adult industry members as well as the general public, along with some social engagement from a few prominent figures in music and fashion. It has a lot of potential, so I’m really excited about my new solo venture.
2: Where would you go in a time travel machine?
That’s difficult as there are several prominent moments in history I would love to have seen first hand and for different reasons. I would like to have the seen the earliest forming of human civilisation, where and how exactly our ancestry began. I’d love to have seen Ancient Egypt when it’s major cities, monuments, art and artefacts were brand new.
When I think about music, which is a big part of my life, I can’t imagine what it would be like to have seen Jimi Hendrix playing in the flesh, playing live in small London bar or watching Bob Marley perform to a crowd at an open air gig / festival. That would be something else!
3: What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
I’ve done quite a few things that quite a lot of people would think were insane. When I use to model, I’d frequently jump on trains and planes and travel alone to destinations to shoot with photographers I didn’t really know. When it came to all the ‘stranger danger’ don’t dos I pretty much did them all. I was always a risk taker, even as a teenager. I just wanted to get out there, explore different places and meet different kinds of people. I’ve experimented in many different ways in various aspects of my life. I feel like that’s given me a much broader prospective and understanding of what’s truly important. Plus I’ve always been free-spirited, so I feel very fortunate to have crafted a life that doesn’t feel limiting, I work how I wish to, where and with whom I wish to and live where I want to be. It did not come easily by any means, it took a lot of time and effort but it was definitely worth it.
4: What is your earliest memory?
My earliest memory is a very brief one. As a baby, I remember being in my mums arms in our first home, which was a high rise in South East London. I was looking out of the window and watching cars pass along the road, behind the park. Of course, I wouldn’t have known what they were at the time, I just remembered the scene.
5: What was your most intense dream?
It’s hard to pinpoint one in particular as I often have intense dreams, it’s usually my nightmares that are the most intense and have left a much stronger / longer-lasting impression. When I was around 15 years old, I use to dream a lot about being chased and killed by a hooded assailant, but I never saw who it was. I’d wake up before they actually killed me. I use to wake up with a jolt every time until one day I stopped having those dreams.
6: You can give one object (the same object) to everyone in the world, what is it and why?
I’d give them a small mirror that only showed who they were on the inside, or what they had become. If people saw their true reflection staring back at them, I think it would inspire a lot more people to believe in themselves and their abilities. As a result, it would lead to people achieving what they have only dreamt about. I also think it would help ground those who have lost sight of whats actually important, if they could actually see what they are becoming it might be enough of a shock to help them re-evaluate and take positive steps towards becoming more aligned with their true self and not what their ego, peer or societal pressure has dictated.
7: What is the stupidest thing that you did during the summer after leaving school?
I didn’t actually go out so much that summer as I was babysitting my sisters mostly, but I recall getting very drunk on neat vodka on one of the few days I actually got out of the house. Needless to say I’ve had many bad hangovers over the years thanks to vodka and yet it is still one of the few alcoholic drinks I can actually somewhat stomach!
8: What is your least favourite chore?
Hmm… to be honest I don’t really mind doing housework. I guess taking out the trash due to the smell and sometimes, lack of room in the outdoor bins.
9: If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
There’s a big list of places I plan to visit over the course of my life span. I really want to explore hot and exotic destinations like Aruba, Barbados, Madagascar, Zanzibar, the Maldives, Peru etc. The next few countries I’m likely to visit are Bali, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan and probably Canada or New Zealand.
10: What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be several things over the years; a ninja (not even joking!), a nurse, an actress, a dancer and finally a psychiatrist. I actually did go on to study dance and psychology but changed course after some years.
11:What is your favourite song/video that you always look back and reflect on and why?
Just the one? That’s impossible! To pick one, I’ve always loved Safe From Harm by Massive Attack, as I feel like it really summed up my feelings about my past, trying to get away from seemingly impossible situations and leaving toxic people and environments to go on in pursuit of a better, more fulfilling life as well as developing as a person, learning from past traumas and mistakes I had made and as well as learning more about how the world works and how rapidly it is changing.
12: What is your favourite song/video/ book that inspires you and why?
Pretty much everything that comes from Björk. I find her incredibly inspiring in terms of the melodies of her songs, the lyrical content, her singing style as well as her fashion styling and music videos. She’s very talented and is a creative by nature. I find people who push the limit of their creativity and that continue to experiment with their chosen art form to be inspiring. I suppose it’s another reason why I was always drawn to jazz music as a child. My dad use to listen to and play a lot of jazz, as he played guitar, so I found the intricate drum patterns, expressive brass, bass, guitar and overall soulful vibes really fascinating.
13:What was your first car and did you name it?
I don’t drive so maybe just skip this one?
14: Who is the most influential person in your life and why?
It would have to be my boyfriend; we are very similar in a lot of ways and yet different in others. Where we differ is where we really benefit from being around one another. Through his support and understanding I’ve been able to have the space and time to start to truly learn about what I want from life and to work on my personal development. He came at a time where I was pretty much losing faith in humanity, he showed me that there were still people in the world that use free-thought, that are compassionate and isn’t lost to their own selfishness and ego. If it wasn’t for that, I don’t think Burn the Night or myself as an individual would have the same focus that it does i.e. on helping all see their true worth and potential, encouraging others to be bold, creative and free-thinking.
15: If your closest friend was asked to describe you what would they say?
She’s a crazy llama lady, who loves white wine, chocolate and anime.
16:What encouraging advice would you give you 17 year old self?
Never accept anything less than what you truly deserve, and that means realigning your self perception.
17: What is your favourite item of clothing?
Probably my long, drape Killstar jumper. I also have some great summer wear and stunning lingerie from various brands.
18:What did you eat for breakfast this morning?
A bowl of gluten-free, chocolate Zaps cereal, not because I’m a hipster but because I have a wheat allergy.
19:Name a place you would never want to visit again and why?
Switzerland. Luckily, I was only there for a few days for a photoshoot back in 2010. I found it to be intolerant and only suited to those who happen to be white and wealthy. I really didn’t enjoy it, it was dull and I found that a lot of the residents were ultra conservative, close-minded and racially prejudiced.
20: If you could fix one problem with the world what would it be?
If I could, I’d eradicate greed and the warped sense of entitlement. If you took those two factors away, you’d have a great basis to start making some real positive changes in the world. Whilst greed continues to engulf everything, there can never be equality.

Mmmm at first I thought this was going to be a really hard one then after 17 seconds I thought fuck it I am going to tell the truth (let’s hope I don’t get sacked for this) but it’s obvious really. When I nailed Daddies Secretary after him telling me not to, one afternoon, well actually I have done it quite a few times if I’m honest but don’t tell anyone. He still gives me the evils every time he walks past me oopps, and he only knows about the first time!
2: Where would you go in a time travel machine?
Well, being a big fan of the Flintstones I would love to go back in time for tea with Fred and Thelma and their pet Dinosaur. Don’t you think Bam Bam is ever so cute!

Being stuck in that shop window in Soho, London, before Daddy rescued me.

Well I guess I have done many things that I am proud of. From getting my degree in psychology to many more simple things. The most rewarding of all was rescuing my fur kid Sasha 🙂

I would love to visit the Naica cave Chihuahua in Mexico. I have a huge passion for huge crystals. I best not wear my catsuit if I ever visit there, its extremely hot!

I wanted to be an artist inspired by many wonderful artists. I guess I have become a different artist more of a kinky one lol. I still love painting though!

Wow I really do have many. However two of my favs would be Dr Richard Bandler, Dr Wayne Dyer. I love the way they think!

My closest friends would say that I am honest kind helpful and inspiring.

I would advise my younger self to be mindful of who I choose as friends. Real friends are decent kind and wish you well. The rats in the world only want to hurt you because they have no life of their own.

My favourite clothing depends on where I am. Dungeon clothing has to be latex, pvc and all things shiny 🙂 Going out to restaurants something sexy but classy.
